Pamela Hawley, UniversalGiving's Founder and CEO, spoke at the Cisco event recognizing the grant recipients, sharing best practices for nonprofit marketing and branding through social networking technology.
The Cisco Foundation annually awards grants to nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area that are recognized as "innovative and effective" in serving communities in need. This year's Silicon Valley Impact Grants targeted organizations working to support K-8 education, healthcare, and adult vocational needs.
UniversalGiving Corporate helps Cisco manage its global Corporate Social Responsibility Program. UGC handles the strategy, operations, and NGO vetting to ensure the success of international giving and volunteer programs. In doing so, we help a company's bottom line by increasing corporate brand image, employee attraction/retention, and client attraction/retention.
According to Executive Director Michael Yutrzenka, "The Cisco Foundation has a rich history of supporting nonprofit organizations and programs focused on addressing critical human needs, education and economic empowerment"--both locally through the Impact Grants and internationally through connections with UniversalGiving's NGOs.
