Support Rohingya families with critical humanitarian aid

The Big Picture

Goal: $50,000
  $0 raised
The Rohingya, an ethnic group from Myanmar, are often described as "the world's most persecuted minority.? Last August, a violent attack by government security forces precipitated a large and sustained exodus of Rohingya people. Referred to by a top UN official as a ?textbook case of ethnic cleansing,? security forces are accused of burning villages, separating families, killing, and raping women and girls. Now, more than one million Rohingya people reside in overcrowded, makeshift settlements in Cox?s Bazar, Bangladesh, and they require immediate, ongoing humanitarian aid to address their basic needs. Based in Bangladesh, BRAC is well-positioned to respond to the crisis, and is one of the largest responders on the ground, providing food, shelter, clean water and sanitation, health services, education, and safe spaces for women and children. BRAC has reached over 980,000 Rohingya people with at least one crucial service. See the latest updates on our work at response.brac.net.
