User Submitted Information
You may provide to UniversalGiving what is generally called "personally identifiable" information such as your name, physical or mailing address, e-mail address, personal/business/mobile telephone number, credit card information, billing information, job title and employment history.

Cookies are tiny text files that websites commonly write to your hard drive when you visit them so that they can remember you when you visit. UniversalGiving may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the UniversalGiving Site. By using these cookies, we can maintain your identity between sessions so that the UniversalGiving Site can be personalized based on your preferences or history. These persistent types of cookies can be removed. Each web browser implements different functionality, so please refer to the manuals or technical support resources that are available in conjunction with your web browser to learn the correct way to modify your cookies set-up. Please note that disabling cookies may prevent you from accessing some of the functionality and site offerings available via the UniversalGiving Site.

We also use all of the information we collect from our Users: (a) for purposes of operating and maintaining the UniversalGiving Site; (b) to understand usage trends and preferences; (c) to improve the way the Site works and looks; (d) to improve our promotional or fundraising efforts; (e) to create new features, content and functionality on the Site; and (f) to ensure that Users of the Site are abiding by our Terms of Service.

As part of our referral program, we request personally identifiable information of our Users’ friends and family whom they think would like to receive information on UniversalGiving. The persons referred to us will be contacted only by our staff. We use and treat information our Users provide about their referrals in the same way we use and treat information about Users who register directly with UniversalGiving.

In the event that you decide to volunteer or donate money through the Site, we will share your information with other volunteers or our NGO partners in order to facilitate these processes. In addition, you may opt in to us disclosing your information to other Users in the course of your participation in various features or services on the Site.

We may share automatically collected and aggregate personally-identifiable information with interested third parties to assist them in understanding the usage patterns for certain content, services, advertisements, promotions and/or functionality on the UniversalGiving Site.
You will have the ability to opt-out in the event that we share your information with other third-party organizations for: (a) their promotional uses; or (b) any other programs or features not disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
We may also share the information you provide to us if we reasonably believe that doing so is required by law or is in our interests to protect our property or other legal rights or the rights or property of others.
