| Volunteer Nepal, an affiliate of Nepal Orphans Home, strives to serve and enhance the relationship between the Nepalese people and volunteers who seek a heartfelt, life-changing experience. In 2011 more than a hundred NOH volunteers from a dozen countries came to Nepal. Some of the volunteers were returning for second or third stints. NOH provides a residential house for all the volunteers while they are in Dhapasi during their orientation. After the orientation, accommodations are provided on site. Included among our volunteer experiences are: introducing healthier and more environmentally sustainable briquette ovens to Dumrikharka village where NOH supports the local primary school, building web sites, teaching classes in remote villages, assisting in medical clinics, and after-school tutoring with Papa's House children.
