The Big Picture
The average family income in Monteverde is around $600 a month. The fees for private high school education are $320 per month. Although 75% of our students are on scholarship, this is still an obstacle for many families.
At the core of the Centro de Educación Creativa/ Cloud Forest School is the need to provide the children of the Monteverde zone the necessary skills to negotiate the delicate balance between responsible economic development and environmental protection.
This year we are providing 76% of our locally enrolled students with financial aid, receiving either partial or full scholarships to offset tuition costs. We depend on the support of private donors throughout the United States and Costa Rica to pay the tuition for our lower-income students.
A donation to the SCHOLARSHIP FUND will ensure students have the opportunity to continue studying with us. The unfortunate alternative is often to finish school early, or in most cases, stop education completely.
Impact of Your Donation
The scholarship fund enables children to attend our school who otherwise would not be able to carry on their education. High school fees are $300 per month Due to financial aid we provide, the average parent pays far less.
Fees vary in according to the grade the child is in.
Our scholarship fund takes into consideration parents' income and number of dependents. Those earning less than $600/month automatically receive financial aid, and we aim to help as many families as we can.
