| The CEC has a thriving volunteer program and has benefited tremendously from the energy, imagination and dedication of many volunteers over the years. We are very grateful to those who give their time and spirit to our community without monetary compensation, and we certainly hope that you feel, as have past participants, that the intangible rewards are immeasurable.
Volunteers work with our land manager, Milton. They work on our ongoing reforestation projects in the cloud forest on the school grounds, preparing and maintaining organic gardens, helping with environmental education classes, school community outreach projects, trail and building maintenance. They may also be asked to help with our special education programs. Many volunteer tasks can be physically demanding and volunteers should be both willing and in good health.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school. Volunteers must also be fluent English speakers and willing to speak only English with our students during the school day--we are a bilingual school!
It is particularly helpful to know a little Spanish and to have experience volunteering and/or traveling in other countries. An adaptable, optimistic personality is a must!
