Globalhood achieves its mission by providing consultancy services to other organizations and incubation services for development projects, and through Global Potential, its flagship project, that offers a fresh approach to youth development by focusing on providing urban minority youth living in low-income communities with mentoring, job skills, and the opportunity to volunteer abroad in a developing world community, in order to create positive change in their lives and communities. A unique component of Global Potential is the integration of an international voluntary service into the program, enabling low-income urban youth minority participants to undertake 1.5 months of volunteer work in a developing country abroad, bringing about a turnaround in the usual philanthropic process - those who might typically receive help, learn how to use their own strengths and life experiences to help others and, in turn, themselves.
