| Global Citizens Network needs your help constructing a health clinic for the Luo people of Odienya, who were hit hard by outbreaks of malaria and cholera. The construction of this health center will greatly help the community and will serve about 10,000 people within the 4km radius. The majority of the nearly 2,000 people of Odienya belong to the Luo tribe. President Barack Obama's father is a Luo from this area, and the local people proudly refer to President Obama as their "American President". The people maintain a life of subsistence farming, balancing their rich traditions while developing a modern lifestyle focusing on health and education.
You will help construct the health center with a committee who oversees the project and has worked with GCN and community volunteers since January 2000.
