| In Defense of Animals in Africa needs help from highly motivated, mature volunteers who are committed to the conservation of great apes and are willing to live for six months in an isolated, challenging, French-speaking environment in order to benefit our next of kin. In this incredibly rewarding, life-enriching experience, you can share your time and talents with the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in Cameroon, Africa.
You will help with day-to-day operations at the Center, including working with French-speaking staff, helping with construction projects, purchasing supplies, painting, maintaining equipment and helping Cameroonian caregivers with the care and feeding of young chimpanzees. However, please note that direct hand-on time with chimpanzees is limited. Qualifications or length of stay may be negotiated for applicants with professional veterinary or medical training, or mechanical, electrical or construction skills & experience.
