Burma. WIN assists oppressed pro-democracy ethnic groups and activists inside Burma. WIN supports grassroots leaders in both Lower and Eastern Burma as "agents of change". We support initiatives for development of youth leaders, medical services, human rights reporting, and critical skills to assist surviving attacks by the armed forces of the Burmese dictatorship. We support orphans, blinded amputee landmine victims, and humanitarian aid to refugees in disaster (Cyclone Nargis). Kenya. WIN's focus is on community building through an inter-tribal initiative on the Kenya-Tanzania border. Here we support former warring tribes in a community school, empower women and support of moderate community leaders. We also seek to enable American youth, young adults and teachers to participate in this initiative. Mexico. The focus is to empower local American youth as leaders to engage and partner in Mexican home building projects to break the cycle of poverty.
