The Big Picture
Mio area is a great part of grazing which is located at 90 km in the south of Agadez, Niger. There are 600 families of nomadic breeders with several thousands animals. One Herd well benefits approximately 600 people (to thousands animals). The objective of the entire Tidene project is to improve inhabitants' life conditions through digging 40 wells in strategic areas in North Niger. By facilitating access to safe water, this project contributes to affordable and sustainable development by providing water for villagers, their household, livestock and farming irrigation.
The H2O Africa Foundation, founded by Matt Damon in conjunction with the Running the Sahara expedition and documentary, has partnered with Tidene to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene for schools in Northern Niger. Each and every dollar donated to TIdene for this project will be matched by H2O Africa! The impact of your contribution will be doubled!
Impact of Your Donation
By funding this project, you will help realize the fulfillment of "Wells of the Desert" project of providing clean, accessible water to nearly 15,000 people in Niger. There will be the ability to create gardens with veggie productions, to improve livestock and to insure the economical development in the long run for the nomadic people and sedentary region of North Niger.
