The Village of Hope Children's Center serves at-risk children in Central Vietnam. East Meets West funded the construction of the center, which currently houses and educates 180 children, with a grant from United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Support for Village of Hope children comes from international sponsors like you. Children attend school, receive health and dental care, and participate in vocational training programs, such as typing, computers, tailoring, carpentry, motorbike repair and animal husbandry. More than 45 children at Village of Hope are deaf. The deaf education program is supported through the generous donations of individuals like you.
You can sponsor a child for $600 a year, so that he or she may participate in our deaf education program. Sponsors are encouraged to write their child each month (by regular mail or by e-mail), send birthday cards (and an occasional gift), and even visit their child at Village of Hope.
