The Big Picture
Imagine having to quit school because your family or guardian can no longer afford to pay your school fees and requirements. Sadly, this is a reality for countless children in Uganda.
Due to a lack of government-subsidized education, extended families and orphanages face an enormous financial barrier to educating Uganda's children. Children of Uganda is helping address this unmet need by providing education and support to AIDS-affected orphans and vulnerable children who would otherwise not be in school.
In memory of Sister Rose Muyinza (the founder of our partner on the ground, Daughter's of Charity), the Sister Rose Education Fund was established in 2009 to help provide critically needed school fees and requirements for the unsponsored and partially sponsored secondary and vocational students in our program.
To help keep our most vulnerable students in school, please donate to the Sister Rose Education Fund.
Impact of Your Donation
Your donation to the Sister Rose Education Fund will provide school fees and requirements for our unsponsored and partially sponsored secondary and vocational students.
Secondary students must supply their own paper, pens, pencils, special uniforms, school shoes, and personal hygiene items. Vocational students have additional requirements to cover, such as training tool kits and internet or computer fees. Without these requirements, a student can be turned away from school.
