Poverty and hunger in Malawi are widespread and children often bear the burden of this hunger. It drains them of their will and ability to learn. Many of them stop going to school.
Your gift of $50 will provide an in-school meal to a hungry child for the entire school year and help the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) fight hunger in the most impoverished regions of Malawi, and other parts of Africa where aid is needed.
One meal will provide pupils with an improved diet and help them concentrate in the classroom. It will also motivate parents to send children, especially girls, to school instead of making them work around the household.
By getting more children into the classroom, the World Food Program will be able not only to fight hunger, but also to offer thousands of children the key to a better future through education.
