Every week we collect medical equipment and supplies from Bay Area hospitals, diverting medical waste from Bay Area landfills, organize, pack and then ship containers worth millions to Peru, for example, every month.
Last year, 2011, we shipped 41 containers to Peru, Bolivia, Haiti, Chile, El Salvador, Ecuador and more.
VIDA has diverted over 800 tons of viable medical supplies from Bay Area landfills.
