Quick Facts
|
According to a WHO survey in 2006, over 22% of all rural Ugandan children are underweight for their age. In our villages, about one child dies every month from malnutrition or related diseases. Children who live often grow into adults with reduced cognitive and physical abilities, making them less able to provide for their families.
Uganda Village Project is fighting malnutrition. We are teaching village leaders how to recognize and help families with malnourished children. We provide severely malnourished village children with daily cups of milk. We hold all-community outreaches to teach families about nutritious foods. We are also subsidizing vegetable seeds and teaching families advanced agricultural techniques for growing gardens.
Please help us to subsidize vegetable seeds and teach families to grow vegetable gardens. A gift of $50 will subsidize vegetable seeds for 50 households, improving the nutrition level of about 400 children! www.ugandavillageproject.org
