Accomplishments & Progress:
We own and manage over 5,000 acres of forest for conservation. Along with neighboring private land owners, we manage the Osa National Wildlife Refuge which forms an important extension of Corcovado National Park.
In 2010 we expanded our sea turtle conservation program from 8km of beach to patrol over 18km of beach, which is the entire stretch of nesting beach outside Corcovado National Park on the southern side of the Osa Peninsula.
We have also recently completed construction of a new multi-use classroom and education facility at our Greg Gund Conservation Center, a research and learning facility for local and international groups to hold classes and conservation courses. This center complements our existing biological station.

Additional Background Information: In addition to having facilities with easy access to pristine rainforest for research and learning, we operate a sea turtle conservation program that is open to volunteers. We also offer conservation birding trips and tours where the proceeds are used to monitor bird populations on our conservation properties and protect and restore bird-friendly habitat, specifically wintering grounds habitat for neotropical migrant species.
