Full Description

Description

The Hope Alliance needs volunteers who will assist us in bringing people basic amenities, including medical attention, long-term health care, safe shelter, adequate food and clean water. Those with medical or construction experience are appreciated.

You will be involved in short-term voluntary service projects that rely upon the talents and contributions of volunteers who are living and interacting in an intercultural environment. Each trip is uniquely different and offers tremendous learning experiences that build upon the compassion for humankind. We invite you to be personally involved and help break the cycle of poverty. All of our trips have a medical component; however, a medical background is not required. We primarily work in rural areas where access to healthcare is limited or non-existent. We strive to create a sustainable and long-lasting change in partnership with local communities and organizations.

Cost Details
Costs may vary from trip to trip, depending on the country. Each trip covers food, lodging and transportation expenses unless otherwise indicated. Airfare is incorporated into the cost of each trip, additional charges may be incured if changes are made by the participant to the travel dates. Exit tax is not covered as part of trip costs, nor personal spending money for gifts and souvenirs. Deposit and additional cost information is available on our website. You are responsible for obtaining a passport and any necessary travel vaccines. If you live outside the Wasatch area, we can arrange the travel connections that you need to join us. Please give appropriate notice if you would like us to do this.

All volunteers are welcome; however, if you have a medical background or specialty in a specific area of medicine, let us know so we can use your expertise and enhance your overall experience. Knowledge in construction or building is also welcome and a wonderful addition to any of our projects.

Individuals 18 years and older may apply to join a relief expedition. Younger people may attend if accompanied by a parent or, in special cases, with appropriate release forms and insurance coverage. We have taken volunteers as young as 14 years old.
