Project: Martus Human Rights Bulletin System

Human rights groups worldwide collect massive amounts of data about human rights violations, but much of that information is subject to loss, destruction, theft or neglect.
Martus, Greek for "witness, is a free, secure and easy-to-use open-source program that helps human rights groups capture and protect their most valuable asset: information. It provides users with control over which information is kept securely and which information is publicly shared, thus also protecting the identity of victims and witnesses of human rights violations who come forward to tell their stories, and of the human rights activists who take their statements. By empowering grassroots groups to secure and organize their records, the Martus software helps preserve crucial evidence for research, investigation and prosecutions. Without the secure collection and use of such information, social justice advocates would have a limited chance of success.
