In Thailand AMURTEL supports the Baan Unrak project that provides hope for destitute women and children, who might otherwise be forced into prostitution. Baan Unrak provides a loving home and education for over 90 children. We also care for single mothers, providing skills training in our sewing and weaving center, and offering courses in literacy, parenting and basic health care. Since 1995 the weaving center has helped single mothers find a stable income. The women produce traditional fabrics and sew them into scarves, blankets, bags and clothing.
