The Big Picture
Help us build a primary school in Canabaj, Guatemala. It is a rural village in the region of Hue Hue; the people we are helping are the indigenous Mayans. Every dollar donated will go towards construction materials, nothing is spent on operational expenses. Miracles in Action has no paid employees, only volunteers, and our low office expenses are covered by the sale of handicrafts. No donation is too small, as $20 can buy a desk for this school. Our projects are always a team effort. The communities seek a ?hand up?, rather than a ?hand out?. All of the villagers provide the manual labor to build their children a school. The local government helps with the skilled labor or a foreman, and the Ministry of Education provides the teachers. You can help: we need funds to purchase materials for 3 classrooms and latrines. Every dollar helps make a huge difference in the lives of these children, who will now have the opportunity to get an education.
Impact of Your Donation
Every dollar donated will go towards construction materials, nothing is spent on operational expenses. Miracles in Action has no paid employees, only volunteers, and our low office expenses are covered by the sale of handicrafts. The construction materials include concrete block, tile floors, tin roofs, windows, and doors. We also purchase white boards and desks for the classrooms. For the latriners we purchase toilets and concrete.
