In rural Nepal, most children drop out of school before 5th grade. However, education is the only real ticket out of poverty for destitute or orphaned children in Nepal.
Why don't many children in Nepal go to school? Many rural families cannot afford such simple items as the school uniform, school supplies, and the small fee for government schools. Private schools cost far more than poor families can afford. Often the family needs their children to help on the family farm, raise their younger siblings, or work to earn money. Abandoned children, of course, are forced to beg instead of study.
For just $75, you can provide a Nepali child with the opportunity to receive a good education for a year. This includes a school uniform and school supplies, as well as fees that pay for the teachers' salaries and the school.
