Quick Facts
|
The UN states that 94.5% of Ugandan adults suffer from 'low educational attainment.' In the rural villages of Iganga most children never make it past primary school (grade six). These children will have few career options, continuing a cycle of rural poverty. Orphans, with no parents to pay their school fees, are least likely to attend secondary school.
Uganda Village Project is helping to break this cycle of poverty by sending orphans to school. We give scholarships to children with a demonstrated need. Relatives of the orphans pay the remaining portion of their tuition, a tactic which ensures that they are invested in the student's education.
Please give a child the gift of education to a student in Iganga. You can do this in 2 ways: a donation of $135 will pay for 1 year of an orphan's education. $45 pays for one term.
