This money will pay for one Haitian child to go to school for an entire year at one of HRF's community-based alternative schools in the slums of Port-au-Prince. The money covers the cost of books, notebooks, pencils in addition to classroom school supplies as well as small stipends for the teachers.
HRF's schools are run by volunteers and the students, who would otherwise not be able to afford to go to school, pay nothing to attend them.
