The Big Picture
IFOB provides grants to community-based development projects in Belize in the sectors of education, environment, and health.
In 2006, IFOB awarded grants to:
- Cornerstone Foundation in Cayo District to fund a youth-centered HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention project. - Hummingbird Highway Elementary's after-school chess club to buy materials and supplies. - Seine Bight village school's organic garden project.
Thanks to increased support, in 2007 the IFOB Community Grants Program is doubling grants to US$1,000 per award. More information on the program is available at www.friendsofbelize.org.
Impact of Your Donation
This program supports community organizations that "fall under the radar" of larger donor organizations, and thereby lack access to other resources.
IFOB accepts requests for grants from non-profit community organizations in Belize, through our user-friendly grant application process, and then vets applicants on a number of criteria to make sure we support the most promising and innovative community-based projects.
