The Big Picture
AAI's Community Service College Scholarships help deserving students in communities plagued by systemic poverty and armed conflict. These scholarships enable Christian and Muslim youth from impoverished families in Mindanao to acquire a college education.
By displaying a strong spirit of volunteerism and dedication to serve their communities- through assisting in understaffed hospitals and overcrowded elementary schools- they bring hope to their communities and instill confidence that peace and development are achievable.
47 scholars have received AAI scholarships and have enrolled in both state-run and private institutions, majoring in computer science, nursing, business/entrepreneurship, agriculture and aquaculture. Of these students, 41 have already graduated, with 6 waiting on the settlement of their school accounts so that they can receive their diplomas and begin working.
$300 covers the cost of tuition, books, and exam fees for one student per semester.
Impact of Your Donation
Donations will be used to cover the costs of tuition & fees, required textbooks, transportation, and a small cost of living stipend for each college scholar.
The average cost per student is $600 for a two-semester school year. However, medical and nursing students pay higher tuition, textbook, and laboratory fees.
Students and school officials are prepared to communicate with donor/sponsors and provide reports on their educational achievements.
