Quick Facts

According to the World Health Organization, HIV/AIDS is the number one cause of death in Uganda, responsible for 25% of all deaths, and for an average 24 years of lost life per person!

Due to stigmatization, poverty and lack of healthcare facilities, few rural Ugandans get tested for HIV, even if they suspect that they are-positive. Many villagers are also unaware of the ease with which free Anti-RetroViral medication and counseling can be received. Instead they suffer at home, alone.

Uganda Village Project brings HIV counseling and testing into our villages. We also teach villagers how to procure continued counseling and free medication from a nearby clinic. Because we work in partnership with other organizations and local health centers, it only costs $75 to provide testing and counseling to a village. Please give life to villagers in rural Iganga, by providing HIV testing and counseling to a village. Visit our website to find out more: www.ugandavillageproject.org
