The Big Picture
In Samburu District, where IMC is providing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene activities, only 22 percent of the community is expected to have access to protected water sources, while only 7 percent have access to sanitation facilities. As a result, diarrhea accounts for 9.4 percent of all morbidity cases in the Baragoi and Nyiro divisions of Samburu.
Impact of Your Donation
IMC makes clean water and sanitation facilities available to nearly 50,000 people in Samburu District, an area plagued by water shortages. IMC is rehabilitating borehole water points and constructing dams, reducing the 1 kilometer distance if not more to fetch water. We are also building roof catchments at school to harvest rain water for consumption. We are also building latrines for twons and primary schools and educating communities.
