At Benetech, we believe that people with disabilities should have equal access to the same books and information at the same time as people without disabilities. Bookshare, Benetech's solution to the accessibility challenge, is the world's largest online accessible library, with over 159,000 titles (and counting). Bookshare's 200,000+ members (the majority of whom are students) download books to read as Braille, in large print or as synthesized speech using the assistive technology of their choice.
Bookshare continues to expand its international service, providing more than 65,000 accessible books to members in 40 countries (see partial list below), in languages including Spanish, German, French, Hindi, Tamil, Afrikaans, and Arabic.
