The Big Picture
Thousands of individuals and institutions in New York City and the region would donate their books and journals to universities in China if there were a local collection center. Costs of a center would be modest - $50,000 per year for a part-time staff person, warehouse services, and publicity. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a project that will produce hundreds of thousands of books per year for libraries from Shanghai to Tibet.
