Your gift of $193 (or any amount - $25 covers the cost of one hour of maintenance for the plane) covers the cost of one flight hour. In remote Bolivian communities, healthcare for serious injuries is not available. At times when emergency air transport can make the difference between life and death, the Mano a Mano aviation program can help. Our aviation program transports pregnant women, critically ill, or injured patients from rural areas to city hospitals for emergency care. We also fly volunteer medical specialist to rural communities for weekend health clinics, as well as Mano a Mano staff and volunteers to project sites. Since 2004, Mano a Mano has airlifted more than 500 patients to emergency care. On average each airlift takes 3 flight hours.
